Palazzo Ducale Venezia

A visit to Venice cannot be separated from a visit to the most important palace in the city :
PALAZZO DUCALE  located in the most important square in Venice :   PIAZZA SAN MARCO

A masterpiece of Gothic architecture, the Doge’s Palace is an impressive structure composed of layers of building elements and ornamentation, from its 14th and 15th century original foundations to the significant Renaissance and opulent Mannerist adjunctions.
The structure is made up of three large blocks, incorporating previous constructions.
The wing towards the St. Mark’s Basin is the oldest, rebuilt from 1340 onwards. The wing towards St. Mark’s Square was built in its present form from 1424 onwards.
The canal-side wing, housing the Doge’s apartments and many government offices, dates from the Renaissance and was built between 1483 and 1565.

The visit lasts about 1 hour and 30, obviously it is very subjective and no one rushes you.

You can visit it with an audio guide (paid service) or simply by following the information sheets which you will find in every room.

The best way to visit the Doge’s Palace is with an authorized guide, in addition to providing you with all the historical and artistic information, she/he will enrich the story with anecdotes and curiosities.

We would like to point out a route called “Secret Itineraries” which, in addition to the classic rooms, will also take you to other parts of the building accessible only with this itinerary and in this case the guide is mandatory.

With the ticket for the sight of the Doge’s Palace you can also visit the CORRER MUSEUM (also in St. Mark’s Square) where you will find various itineraries linked to the history, art and even archeology of the city.

For the purchase methods and conditions please consult the Palazzo Ducale website .

We wish you a good visit !
